Foxy Red Hatters

The Foxy Red Hatters had lunch at Girasole Restaurant in The Plains. For more information, see: Lydia Patierno said that in Italian, Gira means “round” and Sole means “sun.” Linda was the May hostess bringing happiness with flower beds next to the restaurant, because she loves flowers and Spring is now here. Linda’s hostess gift was a set of hand towels.

Food items ordered were:

  1. *Tom: Local Arugula with Pear, Gorgonzola & Walnut, and Classic Egg Benedict

  2. *Robert: Crab Cake with Fried Green Tomatoes, Herbed Sauce & Micro Greens

  3. *JoAnn: Fresh Mozzarella with Tomato, and Classic Egg Benedict

  4. *Linda: Prosciutto dis Parina with fresh Seasonal Fruit, and Grilled Breast of Chicken with Fried Goat Cheese, Pecans, and Dried Cherries

  5. *Nancy: Belgian Waffle with Fresh Berries & Sweetened Whipped Cream

  6. *Bettina and Josephine: Frittata including oyster mushroom, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, fennel, and Fontina

Lydia Patierno kindly gave away some Boule bread to each of us

(Boule is a round crusty French loaf, similar to a peasant bread).

Her husband is the Chief, owner, and operator of this restaurant.

Lydia graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in NY.

They purchased the restaurant 10 years ago. For more information

about the Patierno couple, see:

No one ordered desserts, except for JoAnn who brought one home for Jerry.

Photos were taken by Josephine (nice job!!).
